Five Original Verdadism Paintings at Hopkins House Gallery Art Show, Currently Showing From March 29, 2003 until May 10, 2003
Art Exhibition features paintings by Soraida Martinez, creator of Verdadism style of art juxtaposed with social commentaries.
VISIONS: Women Artists, Painters and Sculptors/Visual Diaries Exhibition opens at Camden County Cultural and Heritage Commission Hopkins House Gallery by presenting the art of Soraida Martinez, Sheba Sharrow, Jackie Sandro, Kay Klotzbach, J.B. Floyd, WonJung Choi and Therese Halsheid. This group exhibition presents the work of 7 renowned women artists, including Soraida Martinez, the creator of Verdadism. On display will be 5 Verdadism paintings: The Traits of Both, Guitar Player: A Symbol of Hope, Please Stop Calling Us Minorities! We All Know Thats An Unfair Label With Negative Connotations, La Latina and Portrait of Carl Sprengle; also, the earthenware clay sculptures of Jacquiline Sandro and the photography and poetry of Therese Halsheid.
The exhibition period is from Saturday, March 29, 2003 until Saturday, May 10, 2003. The Hopkins House Gallery is located at 250 S. Park Drive, Haddon Township, NJ 08108. An opening reception to meet Soraida and the other artists will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2003 from 1-3PM.
